The expanded spell list is what really interests me about the horizon walker. Any ranger list that lets you try something other than hunters mark (ie haste) is a god send, and teleportation circle gives you a break from survival based travel. The Horizon Walker is a close-range class, so melee is probably better damage-wise. Sword and board is the way to go IMO with dueling as it is the best mix of defense and offense. The Ranger has the same hit dice as a fighter, so that is not a problem. You do not need mobility as the distant strike ability does not provoke opportunity attacks ...
