I have a 39A I got new in about 1981, and it will fire anything.Guess what, the lower half of the bolt interferes with the hammer strike. This expierment was done on a 1949 336RC, it came without crossbolt, no trigger block, only half cock and two piece pin. I replaced the two piece with a one piece.
